INFO

Christopher L.R. Goodwin is a professional singer / songwriter / multi-instrumentalist / producer from Houston, Texas. At age 16, Chris withdrew from public school and lept from recording songs alone in his bedroom to under the wing of a successful solo artist who groomed him for a career in the music industry.

He has since spent the last 24 years filling the roles of regional, national and international musical mercenary- playing his own original music as well as offering his playing to other artists and bands on stage and in the studio. Chris has also developed a noteworthy branch of service for music production and artist development. He has taken a handful of bands from beginner local independents to national (and even international) touring powerhouses.

Chris infuses a wide variety of classic and modern stylings such as rock, pop, punk, folk, hip hop, indie, funk, soul, and dance accompanied by classic training and musical instincts lent from an internal love and connection with the power of music.

As a proud Houston artist, he has been an active member of past bands such as Southern Backtones, moderndayjohn, The Last Starfighter, The Jonbenet, Virgin White, and Eldridge, to name a few. Goodwin has founded The Unity Collective as a vessel to commemorate the songs and family created with those projects- along with some of his newer musical endeavors, and uses the Collective as a celebration of the transformational power of music and the unity that it brings.

In August 2013, Chris re-joined American rock band American Fangs and jumped immediately into an extensive tour schedule- playing over 60 shows before finishing out the year with a United Kingdom tour with American rock band Papa Roach. In 2014, Chris and band kicked off the year by playing star packed rock and roll music festival at sea, Shiprocked and then returned home to write a follow up record. In 2015 American Fangs released their second full length album "Dirty Legs" internationally and supported the release by touring the UK including playing Download Festival. Chris' credits on the album include guitar, writing, co-production and assistant engineering.

As American Fangs touring schedule slowed, Chris joined Houston high energy top 40 hard rock cover band, FALSKYE as bassist and additional vocalist playing over 80 dates a year consistently from 2015 to 2020.

In 2016, Chris took to the theatre stage in Houston's Alley Theatre's production of "One Man, Two Guvnors"- singing and playing electric & upright bass as one of the members of 1963 Skiffle / British Invasion band, THE CRAZE.

In 2017, Chris unveiled his electronic music project, $QUIDLOVE, performing at legendary Houston venue Walters as well as Live Nation’s Bayou Music Center. $QUIDLOVE also contributed by co-writing and producing songs for Houston artists LIZZYXMO and CES, and the 3 performed several showcases during 2017’s South By Southwest festival as well as Houston’s Whatever Fest.

In 2018, Chris formed The Eventuals with Falskye cover bandmate A.J. Santana to showcase original tunes A.J. and members created.

In 2019, Chris made his debut at The Texas Renaissance Festival playing the role of Robern- a viking skald in the group, The New Tribesmen.

In the winter of that year, Chris joined national band Earshot as bassist for a Texas tour swing, notably selling out rooms at Dallas’ Trees and Houston’s Warehouse Live.

In April 2020, the hammer of the Covid lockdown shutdown put an abrupt stop to conventional live music and led to Chris’ parting of ways with FALSKYE and newly joined Texas luxury band, Drywater, as well as Earshot.

Always pushing forward, Chris formed a new group with quarantine-mates who released a collection of tunes online under the name The QUARANTINERS, who received radio play from Texas Music Office KOOP 91.7FM as well as attention from The Houston Chronicle.

Chris also leaned into Zoom collaborating on new project GETTERS who in 2021 released their debut EP, WE ARE GETTERS, a 6 song EP accompanied by 6 music videos and a live video performance of “Row”, garnering a collective of over 2 million streams on Spotify. GETTERS is slated to release new music later in 2023.

In 2022, Chris joined as bassist for The Jordan Kahn Music Company, a new standard in luxury entertainment for every kind of celebration. As described in articles in Vogue Magazine, Fortune Magazine and People Magazine, Jordan Kahn's bands have performed for former Presidents and First Families, The Bachelor Franchise and The Real Housewives Franchise television stars' weddings, Mark Cuban, Sean Payton, Draymond Green and Jerry Jones.

In 2023, the story of Robern the viking continues with THE ANACHRONICALS, a group of time-wanders celebrating pirate and celtic songs of land and sea. They have performed for Houston’s Saint Patrick’s Parade, The Mucky Duck on St. Paddy’s Day, and for Galveston’s Steampunk Festival.

Chris also currently actively performs energetic sets with his one-man-covers-band playing bars, pubs, fine dining establishments and private events, offering his unique renditions of popular tunes of the age for people to enjoy and sing along with.
